27/9/01 - New Business Development Manager for FinancePlus
As of October 2, FinancePlus will have a new Business Development Manager. Mr Timothy Strachan, Most recently working as Channel Manager with a local PC company, Timothy started off in Western Australia selling a locally developed accounting software system int he early 1990s.

We welcome Timothy and the experience and knowledge he brings to the role of BDM. Over the coming month he will be introduced to all FinancePlus Business Partners in a series of one-on-one's, as well as at the upcoming Business Partners meetings.

29/8/01 - Development Update
Two of the key features announced in the previous news update have been completed: the Quick Invoice screen and the Sales Orders by Item No screen. A third feature, Pending Sales return, has had to be delayed because we have come to the realisation that it requires data structure changes, hence it will be included in a V3.30 release in October.

A number of smaller enhancements and bug fixes have been also implemented, and more are currently in the works. We will sent all these changes out as a general release around mid-September.

We have started work on creating an interface for transmitting Sales Invoices (not Sales Orders) from an outside application into FinancePlus. The interface will suppport XML (a smart text file format) as well as direct-coupling via a Microsoft COM Server object (i.e. something that can directly be invoked from VB or other custom applications).

Work on Pending Sales Returns, Service module and POS will start once the September general release has gone out.
