FinancePlus is a file-server application and should not confused with client-server.

As a file-server application, FinancePlus requires a Windows NT or Windows 2000 server on which to store the FinancePlus data directory. The server operating system handles the requests from the individual workstations for data relating to transactions. There is no FinancePlus application running on the server, only on the individual workstations.

FinancePlus will not run on peer-to-peer networks and therefore it is not advised to store the data directory on Windows 98 or ME workstations, except when running a single-user or stand-alone system.
