Inventory Management

Inventory screenIn FinancePlus Inventory is established as either perpetual/diminishing inventory referred to as Physical Parts or non-diminishing inventory referred to as Service Parts. Both Physical and Service Parts are established in the same table and can be included in the same invoice.

Inventory is established into Categories, which allow you to search and report, based on this additional criterion. Categories are created and named by you, are unlimited and can have unlimited sub-categories. Categories allow you to further separate your stock for more meaningful analysis.

Stock is maintained by FinancePlus using Average Costing. Stock levels are maintained by the system, which shows numbers in stock, on order, and in sales backlog. The system will prevent you from selling stock you don’t hold unless you have nominated to allow negative stock.

Handling Parts

FinancePlus allows up to six price levels for each item or you can set a standard discount for a customer (An optional Pricing Matrix module is available for businesses requiring complex pricing beyond six levels). When raising an invoice FinancePlus will display both the base list price and the category price selected for the customer.

Within FinancePlus, multiple stock locations can be maintained. These locations can be real/physical (eg. Melbourne warehouse, Sydney office) or nominal locations, such as ‘damaged’ or ‘returned goods’. This allows for further price levels as each locations can have independent pricing for all six price levels.

Kit Building or Assembly

Inventory can be nominated as a Kit or Assembly Item. For instance you may sell a wineglasses individually and you may also sell them as a set of six. By using the kit you can combine items into groups. When you are selling a kit, it is treated by the system as any other physical part.

Inventory Adjustments

Inventory adjustments are streamlined in FinancePlus. You simply select the item or items that you want to adjust and you can nominate whether you want to add, remove or revalue the item in inventory. A full log of all inventory movements including adjustments is provided for each inventory item over a date range selected by you.
